COVID-19 IN-OFFICE GUIDELINES AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES
University Children’s Eye Center (UCEC) is dedicated to ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of its patients, visitors, doctors, and staff. Despite the current challenges we face with COVID-19, we are pleased to share that UCEC is working to safely return patients to our offices.
We know this is not a time to let our guard down, so please note the following changes to our schedules and protocol for treating patients to protect all parties:
-
UCEC will not perform examinations on any patients known or suspected to have COVID-19.
-
Physicians are working at a reduced schedule to ensure proper sterilization of equipment between patients.
-
Patients will be limited to TWO parents/guardians and ONE sibling IF UNDER THE AGE OF 6 MONTHS, into the office. If the patient arrives with more than TWO parents or a sibling OVER 6 months of age, they will be asked to reschedule or have their extra party members wait outside of the building, or in their car.
-
All visitors and patients over the age of 2 years old MUST wear a mask to enter our offices. NO EXCEPTIONS.
-
We ask that upon arrival, all patients remain in their car and text 732-613-9191. A staff member will respond indicating when it is safe to enter the building.
-
All paperwork and forms must be completed ONLINE at least 48 hours prior to your appointment time.
-
We encourage parents to bring a toy, iPad, book, etc., to the appointment to keep children occupied. Our offices have removed all toys, books, and other printed materials from our waiting and exam rooms for your safety.
-
We ask that parents hold their child(ren)'s hands at all times and place young child(ren) on their lap during the exam to avoid any cross-contamination in our offices.
-
In order to keep all parties safe, our goal is to limit the amount of face-to-face contact required of our patients. As a result, please note that our doctors may complete your exam and ask that you return to your car and discuss your results over the phone.
