Announcing The Rana Fund: Supporting Medically Necessary Contact Lenses for Children

University Children’s Eye Center is proud to share that Dr. Nidhi Rana has established The Rana Fund, an initiative dedicated to helping pediatric patients who require medically necessary contact lenses.

For some children, contact lenses are a critical part of treatment, and not just optional or cosmetic. Conditions such as aphakia, keratoconus, and other complex pediatric eye disorders may require specialized contact lenses to support proper visual development and long-term eye health. However, these lenses are frequently not covered by insurance, placing a substantial financial burden on families.

The Rana Fund was created to help address this need. Donations to the fund directly support pediatric patients who require medically necessary contact lenses, helping ensure that financial barriers do not stand in the way of essential vision care.

The fund is hosted through Wills Eye Hospital, and all contributions go directly toward supporting children in need of specialized lenses.

If you would like to learn more about The Rana Fund or make a donation, please visit the official fund page.

Every contribution makes a meaningful difference in a child’s life — helping them see the world more clearly and giving them the best opportunity for healthy visual development.
